Wind Ensemble Will Perform Tuesday Share Tweet Email LinkedIn 11/14/19 Top News University Wide All Inclusive Students The Lee University Wind EnsembleThe Lee University Wind Ensemble will present its second concert of the fall semester on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Conn Center, under the direction of Dr. David Holsinger.A variety of modern day and earlier century composers will be highlighted. This concert will also feature a surprise program element, never included in the 21 years of the ensemble’s existence, according to Holsinger.“This year, for both fall and spring semesters, I intend to play a number of my favorite works for band,” said Holsinger. “A few, I program fairly often, and some I wish I had programmed more.”Music will range from a British arrangement of a madrigal by King Henry VIII to John Philip Sousa’s “March King.” American composers will include Howard Hanson, Percy Grainger, Ralph Manuel, and David Lovrien.During the performance, Holsinger will recognize members who are leaving the ensemble for either student teaching assignments or graduation. The Lee University Wind Ensemble is committed to the highest level of performance of instrumental ensemble literature for winds and percussion.
