    How do I apply for a position?

    You can complete an (application) online and return it to the Student Employment Office through email or fax. You can also come directly to the Student Employment Office in Lower Simmons 104 to deliver or complete an application. If you have a resume, we suggest that you attach it to your application. You must legibly complete the entire application front and back and sign it. We do not accept incomplete, illegible, or unsigned applications. We keep all applications on file for one year, and it can be used campus-wide.

    How do I apply for a position?

    All available positions are located on our (online job board) that can be accessed at any time. It is updated immediately anytime the Student Employment Office is made aware of an open position on campus. We suggest checking weekly for any updates.

    Am I guaranteed a job on campus if I have been awarded Federal Work Study?

    No. Even if you have been awarded Federal Work Study through your FAFSA, you still must go through the application process. While there are many on-campus positions available, there is competition within campus positions. Completing an application in its entirety as well as including a resume can help your chances in receiving a position, though

    How much do I get paid? How do I get paid? How often do I get paid? What forms do I need to complete if I have not previously worked for Lee University?

    All new workers to Lee University are required to complete an (1-9 form) and (W-4 form). You must bring two forms of identification with you for the Student Employment Office to complete verification on your 1-9. Once you have completed the 1-9 and W-4 forms, you will no longer have to do this if you work in the future. International students, in addition to the 1-9 form and W-4 form, must complete an International Eligibility Card and have it signed by Renee Williams, International Admissions Counselor, in the Admissions Office each semester the student continues to work on campus.

    How many jobs can I have? How many hours can I work?

    We prefer students to only have one job on campus to allow more students to work. However, you are allowed a maximum of 20 hours per week or two jobs on campus.

    How do I know if I got the job?

    When you apply for a job, you will receive a confirmation email if and when the Student Employment Office forwards your application to a department. The Student Employment Office does not make hires for departments. Once the Student Employment Office forwards your application, our part of the process is complete. You will be contacted directly by the supervisors of the departments, for which you applied, if they are interested in hiring you.

    Can I apply for multiple jobs at once?

    Absolutely! That's the best part of the Student Employment Office. You can apply for multiple jobs on campus at one time. If you meet the qualifications for more than one position, feel free to put all positions on your application. We will forward your application to each department for which you applied. However, the maximum 20 hours per week or two jobs on campus rule still applies, even if you are hired for more.

    When is the best time to apply for a job?

    Any time is a great time to apply for a job, but the beginning or end of a semester may be best. Many positions open up throughout the semester, but it is more likely for a position to open at the beginning or end of a semester. Feel free to apply any time throughout the year, even if a position is not currently available. Since we keep applications on file for a year, you can always contact the Student Employment Office within that year to have your application forwarded to an open position in a department.
